Risco de Arritmias Cardíacas com o Ondansetron

O FDA ( departamento de drogas e alimentos do EUA) acaba de anunciar que o Ondansentron, droga anti-emética mais conhecida pelo seu nome comercial - Zofran, não deve ser utilizada em pacientes portadores da Síndrome Congênita do QT Longo. Uma vez que esta droga tem alta probabilidade de alargar ainda mais o intervalo QT e desencadear taquiarritmias ventriculares graves e potencialmente fatais como a Torsades des Pointes. O alerta saiu nesta quinta-feira (15/09/2011). Estão também sob risco aumentado os pacientes portadores de Insuficiência Cardíaca, Bradiarritmias e aqueles com níveis baixos de potassio e magnésio no sangue, além dos pacientes que já usam drogas que também alargam o intervalo QT. O FDA sugere que um ECG seja feito de rotina em todos os pacientes que venham a utilizar esta droga.

Publicidade de médicos fica mais restrita nas redes sociais em 2012.

A propaganda, o uso das redes sociais e as entrevistas de médicos e   instituições médicas terão novas regras a partir de fevereiro de 2012.         
Uma nova resolução --em substituição à anterior, de 2003-- foi divulgada   pelo CFM (Conselho Federal de Medicina) na manhã desta quinta-feira. O texto   será publicado na edição de amanhã do "Diário Oficial" da União e vale após   180 dias.      Entre as novidades, está a proibição de que associações e sindicatos   médicos chancelem produtos que tenham alguma relação com a saúde. Por   exemplo, margarinas e sabonetes bactericidas, explica Emmanuel Fortes,   conselheiro e vice-presidente do CFM. A nova regra atinge até as embalagens   de produtos que tragam selo ou indicação da chancela médica.      "As sociedades têm 180 dias para retirar [a chancela]", diz Fortes.      As redes sociais, embrionárias em 2003, também foram alvo da nova   resolução. São permitidas, mas com uma série de restrições que podem   inviabilizar sua utilização na propaganda médica.      Nelas o médico não pode, por exemplo, divulgar endereço e telefone do   consultório/serviço, anunciar aparelhagem ou técnicas exclusivas para se   atribuir capacidade privilegiada ou divulgar anúncios com o nome do médico   sem o número do CRM (Conselho Regional de Medicina). Isso vale também para   blogs.      Sites de clínicas ou propagandas nas ruas continuam podendo divulgar   endereços e contatos dos médicos.      CELEBRIDADES      De forma geral, os médicos ficam proibidos de anunciarem ter uma   pós-graduação em área diferente daquela em que fizeram sua especialização   acadêmica --por exemplo, dizer que tem especialização em dermatologia quando   fez sua residência/especialização acadêmica em cardiologia.      A propaganda em TV, jornal, rádio e internet, os papeis timbrados e placas   de propaganda ficam sujeitos a regras muito específicas. Elas incluem a   divulgação do nome do médico e de seu CRM (ou os dados do responsável pela   instituição), tamanhos mínimos para a divulgação destes dados e, em alguns   casos, até a fonte da letra que deve ser usada. Os detalhes podem ser   conferidos nos anexos da resolução.      Outro ponto da norma proíbe apresentar nome, imagem ou voz de celebridades   para dizer ou sugerir que ela usa ou recomenda determinado serviço.      Segundo Fortes, no entanto, a presença de celebridades não está totalmente   vetada nas propagandas médicas. "O ator pode fazer uma propaganda, desde que   não haja excesso. A gente não quer que o médico se comprometa com resultados   e induza a pessoa a achar que todos ficarão lindos e que todos terão aquele   mesmo resultado."      Há ainda uma série de orientações sobre como os médicos devem se portar em   entrevistas e eventos públicos --muitas delas já em vigor hoje.
